What a CT Lottery Retail Sportsbook Looks Like
CT Lottery retail sportsbooks are operated by Fanatics under the state Lottery's license. They are smaller than the tribal casino sportsbooks — typically a dedicated counter with self-service kiosks rather than a full lounge with stadium seating and bar service.
What you can do at a CT Lottery retail location:
- Place wagers via self-service kiosk or ticket window
- Cash winning tickets at the same window
- Deposit cash to your Fanatics mobile account
- Cash out mobile winnings as physical currency
- Get help with account setup from on-site staff
You cannot watch games on-property the way you can at Foxwoods or Mohegan Sun — these are pure wager-and-go locations.
CT Lottery Retail Sportsbooks FAQ
How many CT Lottery retail sportsbooks are open?
As of May 2026, five locations are open: Hartford, Stamford, New Haven, Bridgeport, and Waterbury. Public Act 21-23 authorizes up to 15 total, with additional locations rolling out gradually.
Why aren't there more CT Lottery retail sportsbooks?
Two constraints: (1) the 25-mile rule prohibits CT Lottery locations within 25 miles of either tribal casino (Foxwoods, Mohegan Sun) without tribal consent — which covers most of eastern and central CT; (2) the Lottery is rolling out locations incrementally based on demand and operational capacity.
What operator runs the CT Lottery retail sportsbooks?
Fanatics Sportsbook, since December 2023. Fanatics replaced SugarHouse (Rush Street Interactive) as the CT Lottery's sports betting partner.
Can I use my Fanatics mobile account at CT Lottery retail locations?
Yes. Your Fanatics mobile account is the same account at the retail kiosks. Cash deposits at the retail venue credit to your mobile balance instantly.
What are the differences between CT Lottery retail and tribal retail?
CT Lottery locations are smaller — typically a dedicated kiosk-and-ticket-window setup rather than a full lounge. Tribal sportsbooks (Foxwoods, Mohegan Sun) are full lounges with restaurants and bars. CT Lottery retail is faster for in-and-out wagering.
